Flashing an IBM 440GP Ebony Reference Board using SingleStep with Vision 7.7.3, a visionICE II and Tornado 2.2/vxWorks 5.5

IBM sells a popular reference board known as the IBM 440GP Ebony board. Tornado 2.2/vxWorks 5.5 supports this reference board, and includes a Board Support Package (BSP) known as the “ebony” BSP. Tornado 2.2/vxWorks 5.5, SingleStep with Vision, and a VisionICE II may be used together to program a binary bootrom file into the board’s flash memory.
The purpose of this AppNote is to describe the procedure involved in flashing the IBM 440GP Ebony reference board using SingleStep with Vision, and then run a vxWorks image successfully on the board. This AppNote also includes instructions for initializing both on-board Ethernet interfaces.
